Sejal Kamdar’s Design Styled by Devrishi Krishan Sharma Makes a Statement at Cannes 2026 on Anupria Goenka

Indian fashion and craftsmanship found a proud moment on the global stage at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 as actress Anupria Goenka appeared in an outfit designed by founder and designer Sejal Kamdar and styled by Devrishi Krishan Sharma.

The appearance brought together traditional Indian artistry and modern styling, earning attention for its elegant presentation at one of the world’s biggest film festivals.

Speaking about the milestone, Sejal shared that seeing her design at Cannes was deeply emotional and special. She said she had always dreamt of taking Indian craftsmanship to an international platform, but watching actresses wear her creations at Cannes felt surreal.

“For me, this moment is bigger than fashion. It is about showcasing Indian textiles, Ajrakh artistry, and the incredible work of artisans to a global audience,” she said.

Sejal revealed that her inspiration has always come from India’s heritage crafts, particularly Ajrakh. Fascinated by its detailing and cultural richness, she wanted to reinterpret these traditional elements into modern silhouettes that connect with today’s audience worldwide.

The designer added that the turning point in her journey came when people started recognising the uniqueness of her work and emotionally connecting with Indian craftsmanship presented in a contemporary way.

Her collections are designed for women who are confident, expressive, and proud of their individuality. Sejal said a large part of her own personality is reflected in her creations, especially through her signature use of Ajrakh.

Styled by Devrishi Krishan Sharma, the Cannes appearance beautifully blended heritage with modern fashion, while highlighting the growing global appreciation for Indian craftsmanship and design excellence.

The collaboration between Sejal Kamdar, Devrishi Krishan Sharma, and Anupria Goenka turned the Cannes 2026 appearance into a celebration of Indian creativity on an international stage.
